So I’ve had this shirt since probably middle school… and I’m pretty sure I got it as a hand-me-down at that point too… so if I do the math, it’s at least ten to fifteen years old! And it definitely shows! This has been one of my favorite shirts for so long. I’ve worn it so much that even though it was starting to get holes in it, I was continuing to wear it. Until it got to a point I just had to stop wearing it because the holes were so large and the fabric was wearing thin to the point it was almost see through.

But, instead of just tossing the shirt in the garbage, which would make me really sad, I decided to cut it apart and turn it into a sewing pattern! That way I could make at least one, if not more, versions of the same shirt! And that’s what I’m showing you today! In the video tutorial below, I show you how I cut the shirt apart, how I turned the pieces into a pattern, and how I sewed up a new version of the shirt!
