We have finally closed out 2020 and I am excited for what 2021 will bring!

2020 was a crazy year for a lot of us with the COVID19 pandemic and everyone spending A LOT of time at home. I know staying home was rough for a lot of people – and to be honest, I am ready to be able to go out again sometime – but as an introvert and a sewist, staying home wasn’t all that bad.

I got a lot of sewing done this past year, so I decided to take a look back over (almost) everything I sewed in 2020. I know this video is a little late since we’re already almost through January 2021, but hey, it’s still January, so I think it’s still relevant to look back at 2020 and look forward at plans for 2021.

So in this video I tried on almost everything I made in 2020 – I’m missing a few things because I did make a few things as gifts, so I’m trying on the things I still have. Some themes I noticed during the making of this video and looking back at everything I made in 2020 –

  1. I made a LOT of swimwear! I really expanded my skills in making swimwear and even drafted a few patterns of my own (that maybe you’ll see released as PDF patterns in 2021!).
  2. I really leaned toward comfy clothes, which seems right since there wasn’t really any going out in 2020, so comfy clothes were perfect for quarantine.
  3. I made exactly 0 jackets this past year – maybe it’s time for a couple jackets in 2021! I’m thinking a tailored jacket and maybe a looser fitting one… we’ll see!

Alright, so if you’re interested in seeing the try-on of everything I made in 2020 you can watch the video below!

I hope you enjoyed this look back at one of the better aspects of one of the weirdest years ever – getting lots of sewing time in! Did you sew more or less than usual in 2020? Let me know in the comments below!
