Braided straps are a super fun detail you can add into your swimwear projects. Just trade them out for regular straps – you can use them as ties, shoulder straps, lace up details, and wherever else straps might be used in your projects.

And they’re pretty easy to make. Just cut your three strips of fabric, stretch them to get the edges to roll under, then knot and braid the strips together. Once braided, you can sew over the braid to hold it in place (either with hand sewing or your machine), then trim off the knots.
